Privacy Policy

DGrigg Development Inc (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates SEOgent (“the Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use the Service.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address and password. If you pay for the Service, your payment details are handled by our payment processor. We never store your full card details.

Site information. During setup you tell us your site’s domain, goals, competitors and seed keywords, and which Google Search Console property and Google Analytics 4 property to read from.

Search and analytics data. With your permission, we read performance data from Google Search Console (such as clicks, impressions, queries and indexing status) and Google Analytics 4 (such as sessions, landing pages, channels and conversions) for the sites you connect. We only read this data; we never change your Google settings.

Google user data. If you connect your Google account, we receive the Google data described in section 4, which explains exactly what we access and how we use, store, share and delete it.

Page data. SEOgent fetches publicly accessible pages on your site to analyze them for SEO and answer-engine issues. We store the analysis results, scores and the metadata needed to explain each finding, not full copies of your pages.

Free tools. When you use a free tool on this website (the SEO check, speed test, AI crawler checker or AI visibility checker), we log the address you enter, its results and a one-way hash of your IP address, used for rate limiting. We don’t store the page itself. The speed test sends the address to Google PageSpeed Insights, which loads the page. The AI visibility checker also logs the question you ask and sends it, through DataForSEO, to the AI assistants it checks.

Usage data. We collect information about how you use the Service, such as features used and timestamps, to improve it.

Agent access tokens. If you create tokens for your coding agent, we store a hashed copy of each token and record when it was last used.

2. How we use your information

• Service delivery: to analyze your site, build your fix list, write your weekly briefing and serve your agent through the MCP server.
• Billing: to manage your plan and payments.
• Communication: to send your weekly briefing, account notices and replies to support requests.
• Improvement: to understand usage patterns and improve the Service.
• Security: to detect and prevent fraud, abuse or unauthorized access.

3. AI processing

Briefings, fix plans and content drafts are written with the help of a large language model. To do that, we send the relevant site data (for example a page’s metadata, its findings and its search numbers) to our AI provider, Anthropic. Our provider does not use this data to train its models.

4. Google user data

This section explains how SEOgent accesses, uses, stores, shares and deletes data it receives from Google APIs when you connect your Google account.

Data we access

When an account admin clicks Connect Google and signs in, Google asks them to allow SEOgent:

• Read-only access to Google Search Console (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly). We read the list of Search Console properties your Google account can access; search performance data for the property you choose (clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, by date, search query and page); and the index status of your site’s pages from the URL Inspection API.
• Read-only access to Google Analytics (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly), which is optional. We read the list of GA4 properties your Google account can access, and for the property you choose, reports of sessions, landing pages, traffic channels and the conversion events you select (such as sign_up or purchase).
• Your Google account’s email address (openid and userinfo.email), so we can show which Google login is connected.

We never create, change or delete anything in your Search Console or Google Analytics, and we don’t access any other Google data, such as Gmail, Drive or your contacts.

How we use it

We use Google user data only to provide the features you see in SEOgent for your own sites:

• the dashboard of your search clicks, visits and conversions
• the keyword map, which matches the searches you appear for to your pages
• the list of pages Google hasn’t indexed, and why
• your weekly briefing, which reports what changed and suggests what to fix or write next
• fix plans and content suggestions, prioritised by the searches and pages that matter to your site

Only members of your own SEOgent account can see your Google data. We don’t use Google user data for anything else. In particular, we do not:

• use it for targeted, personalized, retargeted or interest-based advertising
• sell it, or transfer it to data brokers or information resellers
• use it to decide creditworthiness or for lending
• use it to build databases or profiles beyond your own account’s features
• use it to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine learning models, and we don’t allow anyone we share it with to do so

How we store and protect it

• The token Google gives us to stay connected is stored encrypted, and is used only to read the data above.
• Search and analytics data is stored in our database, kept separate for each site, and sent only over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.
• Access to production systems is restricted to the people who run the Service, and logged.

How we share it

We don’t sell or rent Google user data, and we don’t share it with anyone for advertising. We share it only:

• With Anthropic, our AI provider, to write your weekly briefings, fix plans and content drafts. We send only the data needed for that task, such as a page’s search numbers. Anthropic processes it on our behalf and doesn’t use it to train its models.
• With your coding agent, if you create an agent token for a site, so the agent can read that site’s data.
• When required by law, or as part of a merger or acquisition, with notice to you.

No person at SEOgent reads your Google user data unless you ask us to (for example in a support request), it’s needed for security reasons such as investigating abuse, it’s required by law, or it has been aggregated and anonymized.

Retention and deletion

• We keep Google user data for as long as the site it belongs to is in your SEOgent account.
• Disconnect a Google login under Settings → Sites at any time. We revoke the token with Google and delete it, and stop reading new data. You can also remove SEOgent’s access from your Google Account under Security → Third-party connections.
• When you delete a site or your account, its Google data is deleted for good within 90 days. During that time it can be restored if you ask us.
• To have your Google data deleted sooner, email [email protected] and we’ll delete it within 30 days.

Limited Use

SEOgent’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Third-party services

We share data with these services only as needed to run the Service:

• Google (Search Console, Analytics and PageSpeed Insights APIs): to read the data you connect and measure page speed.
• Anthropic: AI processing, as described above.
• DataForSEO: keyword, ranking and competitor research for your domain and keywords, and asking AI assistants the questions you track or enter in the free AI visibility checker.
• Our payment processor: payments.
• Google Analytics: anonymized usage analytics on this website.
• Cloudflare Turnstile: telling people from bots on the free tools.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

6. Data security

• All data is sent over HTTPS with TLS encryption.
• Passwords are hashed, and agent tokens are stored hashed.
• Each site’s data is isolated, and an agent token only reaches the site it belongs to.
• Access to production systems is restricted and logged.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. This website uses Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage data; you can block analytics cookies in your browser without affecting the Service.

8. Your rights (GDPR and PIPEDA)

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can also remove SEOgent’s access to your Google data at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

9. Data retention

We keep your account and site data for as long as your account is active. When you delete a site or your account, it can be restored for 90 days if you ask us; after that we delete its personal data and site data for good, except where the law requires us to keep it.

10. How we fetch pages

• We only fetch publicly accessible pages on sites you add to your account, or the single page you enter in a free tool.
• Our fetcher identifies itself as SEOgent/1.0 (+https://seogent.ai) in its User-Agent.

11. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post material changes on this page and update the date above.
