Content

How SEOgent plans articles and comparison pages from your keyword gaps, writes them in your voice, and tracks them once they’re live.

The Content Plan turns the gaps in your keyword map, and the searches your competitors win, into pages worth writing. You decide which ideas get written. SEOgent writes a brief and a draft in your voice, you review it, and your agent or you publish it.

What SEOgent writes

TypeWhat it isPublished at
ArticleGuides, how-tos and roundups/blog/your-slug/
Alternative page“[Competitor] alternative” pages/your-slug/
Comparison page“[You] vs [competitor]” pages, with an honest comparison table/your-slug/
Free toolA small free tool or template. SEOgent writes the landing copy and a specification, and the tool itself is built by handYour choice

Each idea also gets a priority (high, medium or low), a target keyword and an angle: who it’s for and what it should cover.

Where ideas come from

  • The weekly review. Every Sunday SEOgent tops the plan up to 12 open ideas. It starts with searches no page of yours covers yet, then competitor gaps, and leaves out anything you’ve already planned, published or rejected.
  • Plan more ideas. Choose how many (up to 12) and SEOgent plans them now. They appear in a minute or two.
  • Your own ideas. Add idea takes a title, target keyword, type, priority and angle. It joins the Ideas list like any other.
  • Competitor gaps. On Competitors, Plan article turns a search a competitor wins into an idea targeting exactly that search.
  • Action items. An item that needs a new page can be sent to the Content Plan from the item. When the page is published, the item closes too.
The Content Plan: a draft waiting for review, and ideas to approve with “Write it” or reject with feedback.

From idea to draft

Every piece moves through the same stages:

StageWhat it means
IdeaPlanned, waiting for you to approve or reject it
Being writtenThe brief and draft are in progress, which takes a few minutes
Draft to reviewReady for you to read, edit and approve
ApprovedReady to publish on your site
PublishedLive, with its search results tracked
RejectedKept for 30 days so the planner doesn’t suggest it again

Click Write it on an idea and SEOgent writes two things, for about $0.50 a piece.

The brief comes first. SEOgent looks at what ranks for the target search today, including what Google’s AI Overview quotes and whether it cites you. It then sets the search intent, audience, angle, length (most pieces run 1,200 to 2,500 words), an outline, the questions the piece must answer, and three to six links to your existing pages.

The draft follows the brief. It uses the target search early and in a heading, sticks to the facts in your brand description, dates any competitor prices, and follows your voice and writing style from Settings → Sites → Brand & voice. The draft page shows the brief, the AI Overview’s sources and the keywords in the topic, so you can see what it was written to win.

Use Edit to change an idea’s target keyword, other keywords, type, priority or angle before it’s written.

Reviewing a draft

Open the draft from Drafts to review. You can edit the title (aim for 60 characters), meta description (aim for 155), slug, category and summary, and switch between Preview and Edit Markdown for the body. Then:

  • Approve saves your edits and marks it ready to publish.
  • Request changes… sends your notes to the writer, which rewrites the draft. Be specific: “Cut the history section and add a pricing table” works better than “make it better”.
  • Reject… removes it. Add a reason if you can. The planner and writer read your feedback on rejected ideas and drafts, so they repeat less of what you don’t want.

Approving an article or page also drafts social posts for it: two for LinkedIn and three for X. You’ll find them on the piece under Social posts, with Copy post and a Posted checkbox. Approving a free tool adds an action item to build it, with the approved copy and specification.

Publishing

An approved piece is a Markdown file with frontmatter, ready to add to your site:

---
title: "How to choose a coffee subscription (and what it really costs)"
slug: "how-to-choose-a-coffee-subscription"
date: "2026-10-27"
category: "guide"
summary: "Delivery frequency, roast dates, pausing and the real cost per cup."
seo:
description: "Compare coffee subscriptions on what matters: freshness, flexibility and cost per cup."
---

The article body…

There are two ways to publish it:

  • With your coding agent. Approved pieces appear in your agent’s ready work. It fetches the Markdown, adds the page the same way your other articles are built, and marks it published once it’s live. See Connect your coding agent.
  • By hand. Click Copy Markdown, add it to your site at the address shown, then click Mark as published.

Either way, mark it published only once it’s live. From that day SEOgent tracks the page’s Search Console clicks, impressions and average position, which you’ll see on the piece and in the Published list.

Limits

Writing uses your account’s monthly AI allowance. If the allowance runs out, writing waits until it resets on the 1st of the month.
